First for the campaign!

For the first time in the history of the license, this year’s Call of Duty campaign is a direct sequel to the previous adventure (Modern Warfare 2). In Modern Warfare 3 we find Task Force 141, led by Captain Price, facing a major opponent: Makarov. You may remember him as the big bad from 2011’s Modern Warfare 3… Well, the man hasn’t lost any of his atrocities. This time he will try to set the world on fire – by launching a series of attacks across the globe. Fortunately, Price, Ghost, Gaz and Soap are present. The Modern Warfare 3 campaign has a total of 15 missions (5 hours of linear gameplay), including six open combat missions. The latter are THE novelty of the solo. These are more open-ended sequences than normal, allowing the player to choose their equipment, the order of objectives, and even weapons and hidden killstreaks. A… “nostalgic” multiplayer

If Modern Warfare 3’s main adventure tries to innovate, its multiplayer in turn tends to aim for nostalgia. Yes, from launch players can enjoy 16 “6v6” maps from 2009’s Modern Warfare 2 (see full list below). Cult maps where the level design remains unchanged, but has been modernized. In addition to the modern images (and the advent of doors that open/close), certain places welcome new fashions for the time. For example, it will be possible to play Strategic Point on Favela! Naturally, multiplayer also offers the opportunity to participate in larger battles, thanks to the Land War mode – 32v32 – on three new battle maps. Return of requested engineers

Speaking of multiplayer, you should know something… Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 FINALLY marks the return of the classic mini-map. As in the past, any shot without a silencer is immediately penalized with a “red dot” on the map at the top left of the screen! To complete the picture, we also note the comeback of canceling the slide (pausing the slide at any time) and voting to choose an online card. Finally, the TTK (time to kill) is now longer, thanks to the lifespan increasing from 100 to 150; it is possible to shoot while sliding. In short, small additions that make a difference as far as we are concerned! Note that in terms of loadout customization, Modern Warfare 3 has a new look. Here the usual benefits are replaced by a bulletproof vest, gloves and boots. A way to reinstate certain bonuses in a balanced way.

About Modern Warfare 2 continuity

If you’ve ever played Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, you’ll be happy with this news: Nearly all of the content unlocked last year will be available in Modern Warfare 3. As Activision writes about it official site, we talk about “weapons | aesthetic elements such as packs, operators”, etc. However, the publisher indicates that a “small part” of the content of MW2 will not be available in MW3 – insofar as certain functionalities have been adjusted here. “For example, if the tactical amphibious vehicle is a tactical piece of equipment | In particular, Mortal is not available in the MWIII game modes, skins unlocked for this vehicle in MWII will not be accessible,” we read. An ambitious and ‘cooperative’ zombie

We finally end with the icing on the cake of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3: Zombie Mode, which makes its comeback here. And for the first time, this mode will be open world. As we explained to you in our dedicated article, you can participate in the hunt for the undead alone or in a team of three (with the possibility of meeting other players and eventually forming a “super squad” of six members). There will be 24 people in total, and there won’t be too many to face the hordes of monsters hiding in the shadows. Evidently, “MWZ” offers a more cooperative and more “PvE” experience than in the past, with three areas of increasing difficulty.
