Lidl is putting its Monsieur Cuisine Smart back on sale in a new version

It’s been a while since we’ve seen Lidl’s latest generation robot cooker in the catalogs. While the Silvercrest Monsieur Cuisine Plus was sold at bargain prices this fall, the Monsieur Cuisine Smart was missing. The latter is back in the German brand, which will have it on offer during the end-of-year holidays, Monday, December 4, but only on its website. It will not be available in the physical store network.

Lidl has planned two surprises for this coming back. The first – and not the least – is the color. The Monsieur Cuisine Smart will be offered in a black version, a first for the brand that was not used to offering its robots in different colors. So it is a ‘black edition’. Lidl seems to be copying Vorwerk here, which launched a limited edition of its Thermomix TM6 in 2022, which was then offered in “absolute black”.

The second surprise, perhaps related to the first, is the price. It remains unchanged since its announcement at €429, its original retail price. Here too, Lidl used to give us a small discount on its robot stove, such as in December 2022, when it went on sale again at an attractive price of € 359, or € 70 less.

None of that here. No discounts for the end-of-year holidays. But the brand still plans to make a small gesture by offering shipping costs with the code “Noel2023”, i.e. €5 less costs. Better than nothing.

The Monsieur Cuisine Smart was tested in the laboratory last December and benefits from an excellent price-quality ratio. Lidl has been working to correct the flaws of its first connected robot, the Monsieur Cuisine Connect, in small steps. The interface is better thought out and more responsive, the bowl has been improved with a central Thermomix TM6 style handle and the integrated scale is now slightly more responsive than that of its predecessor. If not everything is perfect, the Monsieur Cuisine Smart is a good reference for this price.

And for those who do not want to pay € 429, but still want to equip themselves with a robot cooking appliance with a good price-quality ratio, Lidl still offers the Monsieur Cuisine Connect on its online site for € 349. Which may also explain why the price of the Smart will not change this year. The Connect model is the manufacturer’s very first connected robot hob. The Monsieur Cuisine Connect, which is sold cheaper than the Smart version, has a less powerful motor, a 7-inch screen (8 inches for the Smart) and does not include a handle to allow for better support of the bowl.

If you are looking for a real alternative to the Monsieur Cuisine Connect and Smart, the Moulinex Click & Cook has plenty of arguments. This robot, which received 5 stars during our test, has many advantages. Compact, complete, good at mixing and fast at cooking, it gives pride of place to guided cooking with a rich and understandable interface. However, it has a smaller bowl (3.6 liters compared to 4.5 liters for the Monsieur Cuisine Smart), which is less suitable for the demands of a large family. It’s currently available for €250, a much more accessible price.
